I feel like teachers are like superheroes, minus the cape. They have this amazing superpower that's called "patience". It's something I've always admired about my past teachers and now those of my own children.
I have so much appreciation for what they do that I love showering them with gifts throughout the year, especially during teacher appreciation week.
Here’s a fun and creative way to give some love (and school supplies) to the teachers and school that nurture your kiddos.
Here's what you'll need to make a school supply cake:
- Ream of paper
- Pack of napkins
- Small box of face tissue
- Ribbon
- Scotch tape
- Stickers
- Pencils
- Markers
- Bottles of bubbles
- Mini chalkboard signs
Those are the items I used, but there are a ton of other things you can use to decorate the “cake” like:
- Colored pencils
- Hand sanitizers
- Baby wipes
- Paper towel rolls
- Glue sticks
- Elmers glue
- Boxes of crayons
- Kids scissors
- Index cards
- Rubber bands
- Washi tape
I will often stock up on school supplies during back to school sales and use them in gifts throughout the year. It's a great way to save time and money.
Instructions:
Start by staking your layers and securing them together with tape.
Use a long piece of scotch tape to space out the markers on opposite sides of the napkins.
Attach the pencils to the short sides of the napkin pack using the same tape technique.
Wrap the sticker sheet around the tissue box.
Attached 4 pencils to the corners of the tissue box with tape.
Wrapped some ribbon around the ream of paper, layers of the cake and write a message on the chalkboard sign.
There you have it. A sweet gift the teachers cannot eat but are sure to love. Perfect for any occasion, really. I hope this inspires you to give a little love to the important people who love and nurture our children. For more gift ideas for Teacher Appreciation checkout this post.
